Brian:

I use the ECHO from Uavionix with my Android tablet for ADS.

What will I need to assure that the IFLY synthetic vision will work with my system?

The synthetic vision is stand-alone, proprietary Adventure Pilot software imbedded in their device and apps. It doesn't require any other outside source for data. (ADS-B)

You will need an ADS-B device that includes an AHRS module. Your's may have that, IDK.

Will AHRS really be necessary? In the other synthetic vision modules I've seen in EFBs, AHRS is required for attitude (pitch and bank) but only basic GPS data needed for "flat" synthetic vision.

It will work without AHRS.  It won't be totally flat, we will do some banking to indicate a turn is in progress..but the bank will not reflect actual bank angle.
