Mike, great pictures. It looks like Armish country around there.

Dick,
Yes, thanks for noticing them - in fact, we are in the middle of Amish Country in this region of Pennsylvania. They are fantastic neighbors to all, and I always go out of my way to buy from them. They built my home, which has been virtually maintenance-free for the last 15 years!
Interesting story: At Smoketown Airport (S37), a young Amish boy was given an airplane ride. Fast-forward, he grows up and wants to be a pilot, so he has to leave the culture and eventually is flying TWA 747s. Tragically, he is one of the pilots who perished in the TWA Flight 800, the 747 (July of 1996) that had the centerline tank explode just off the beach of Long Island some decades ago. He was one of 230 who tragically perished. The Amish were invited out to tour a 747 and were amazed at it...still sad, but proud one of their own rose to be a pilot on such a magnificent and large aircraft.
About 10 years ago, when my young son got cancer, we would go to Hershey and get his weekly chemo and surgeries, and we would always meet the friendly Amish who had some of their kids getting treatment as well - they are close-knit families, but will be the first to tell you they are not perfect, but have their own ways of dealing with the world...this is a fascinating place to live if you open your eyes...
