I live near Lake Michigan and frequently fly over water. During flight planning, I would like to tap in two places on the screen and have the distance between those 2 points displayed. This will allow me to adjust my flight path to ensure that I am always within gliding distance of the shore.

The balloons that show up when you tap on the screen are great, but can I tap twice, get two balloons and have the distance and heading between them show up?

Right now, the only way I have found to do this is to create a new flight plan between the points in question, then look at the calculated results on the flight plan page. This is very cumbersome since it requires the creation of a new flight plan each time I want to measure the distance on the screen.

Thank you for your consideration,

Rich

Hi! rich

I like the Idea a lot, what I would like to see implemented also in the flight plan process, would be. as you build the F/P a circle of 30 minutes reserve range, or a list of airport(s) with fuel within this circle, when you reach time to re-fuel, along the line of travel, with the distance from the last waypoint, The data is already in your airplane profile, Quantity, consumption, speed, etc. this would greatly speed up the F/P building. What do you think

Ciao

I think you have some interesting and useful ideas that could improve the device and FP process. I'm sure the iFly will continue to improve, it is still pretty new and I find it astounding how much the AP team has put into it in such a short time and how responsive they are to us, their customers. I'm sure the good people at AP will be adding lots of great things in the future.
