Thank you all for you responses.

Just to clarify, my scenario is simply flying; i.e., I do not touch anything. It just happens via the automatic Airport Diagram transition and back after takeoff. Sectional to Diagram, shutdown, restart, Airport Diagram, then (undesired) Vector mode, manual mode change to Sectional, zoom out (I think about four levels?)

Same exact situation here. I believe they are aware of this behavior based on the response to my post.
