David-

Aside from the annoyance of it showing the wrong date/time at the boot screen, are you having other GPS-related issues with the unit? Does the time appear to be correct once inside the navigation app? (Like when showing the age of weather data, for instance?)

Cobra,

Once in the navigation app the time/date is the same as what the system showed at boot, and that is the real problem, as all of the weather timing info is wrong. The navigation works just fine.

David,

The logic that applies the datetime from the GPS signal is built into the iFly's operating system. We believe there is some sort of logic flaw, but that code is out of our control. So we have a feature on our books to take the timestamp from the GPS stream and update the system time via the iFly navigation app. I don't have a date yet for this, but we're working on it.

Thanks,
Walter

With some of the new features I have noticed that my clock is never right. I was flying yesterday and noticed that my clock said that it was Feb. 2009. I think that it always shows something like that. I do have the SkyGuard and get my GPS signal from that. I did not try to shut the SkyGuard off to see if the date changed when I used the internal GPS. I will try that next time I fly. But it seems that when I have tested it at my desk the date has been off then too while using the internal GPS. I was wondering if the fix you talked about would address this problem?

Tom,

You may have discovered a bug with getting time from the SkyGuardTWX. I'll try and duplicate this in the morning so I can report it to Walter and Brian. If you use the internal GPS on the iFly, does it maintain the right time?
