Shane,

With the new iPad app, will the two devices be able to talk - e.g. preflight plan with iPad iFly software, then send to iFly in the cockpit?

That is the goal, we are working on developing that. Potentially, even download all your charts, data and then preflight plan, then push all the new charts, data and flight plan over the to iFly. Apple's contraints on data transfer may play into it. More to come shortly.

Sorry it wasn't something simpler!

Curious what the screen fix turn around time would be?

You can try an iPad, mini or maxi, but I think you will be disappointed with the screen brightness. I have used an iPad 2 in the car and on most days I can barely see it!

Did you call and ask them about a remote?

Hi Jim,

Haven't asked about purchasing a remote - if it is even possible. The unit is working fine at the moment, but I am unable to recalibrate. If it continues to drift, it could eventually become unusable, but who knows how long that could take. I have used my iPad in the cockpit and while it is certainly no ifly screen, it is 'ok' - I have a screen protector on mine which helps a bit. With the news of the iFly app forthcoming, and the hope that we will eventually be able to send data from the iPad to the ifly, I will keep the iFly mounted for the foreseeable future. My reason for the swap was because I use the iPad for flight planning, and it is annoying to go back and to input the data into the iFly (as well as Skyview and 430). Looks like the iPad app may solve this issue!

Thanks the info.

I don't think I can ignore their new App when it becomes available!

While still a beginner with the 720, there have been times when I wanted to leave Nav screen up but check an upcoming frequency...

Now I will be able to do both at will.
