No go on the calibration unfortunately Luckily it isn't something essential, but not sure what's causing the issue...

Jonathan,

I'd suggest giving our support team a call. They can try a few other options with you that will be easier by being on the phone.

Well, looks like it is what it is. Apparently when the screen will not calibrate, there is nothing to do but replace the screen. A little disappointing with a unit put into service March 2012 with less than 120 flight hours on it... I've been debating replacing the iFly with an iPad mini during some upcoming panel work I have planned and looks like this made the decision. I have used my iPad with Wing X for flight planning for several years (among all my other daily tasks) so it will be convenient to have it for all preflight tasks and then have it on the panel as a back up - especially with the iLevel AHARS (tertiary AI backup). Certainly the iPad screen (even with the retina display) will not be close to the iFly for direct sunlight viewing, but it is only a backup to my 430 and Dynon Skyview - no use for a readable screen that I cannot do anything with...

Does the failure of the touch screen mean the remote is useless as well? Or could you still use the remote. I suppose that would probably still make it difficult to enter text, but perhaps there's a way to hook up a keyboard as well.

Mike,

You're probably on to something with the remote. Unfortunately, the iFly was in the plane when I purchased it and I did not get the remote - did not know to ask at the time. It is still perfectly functional at this time, but gives random fits with button selection. The fact is CS said when the screen gets to the point of not being able to be calibrated, there is nothing that can be done except replace the screen. I was just caught off guard by this from a relatively young, $750 piece of equipment. Who knows, perhaps it will not get worse and will remain in its current state (useable, but at times very frustrating) indefinitely.
