If, like me, you've been seeing WinCE IP error warnings pop up on your 740 or 740b AND if you have the uAvionix echoUAT installed, the problem is likely that you need to update the Ping router wifi firmware with the file pingWifi-1_3_4.bin. I did it today, and it appears to have fixed the problem.
But you can't just download the wifi update that's on the uAvionix website. That one has a "3_3" in the filename. You need the "3_4" update, and (right now) that's available ONLY from one of their customer service guys. To get it, phone uAvionix and describe your problem, and be sure you get transferred to the right person. He sent me the update by email. The instructions for installing it are on the website, and the update is quick and simple.
Why can't I just post the update here and tell you where it is, so you can go install it without the phone call?
I don't know why--but The Guy told me "NO!" I couldn't post it here. (He did say that I could pass it on to a friend, but not post it anywhere.) So if you've been seeing those WinCE errors about IP addresses, give him a call.
I don't understand the need for secrecy. But I DO understand that this update fixes my problem and probably other problems, as well. So if you have the Ping router, I'd do the update.
Brolin, please be sure Walter knows about this.
