Thanks, GeorgeD.  Do I understand correctly that that version is associated with the 740 error messages?

I haven't had a chance to find out which version of the uAvionix firmware I have yet. But today I started out to try for a workaround--start my iPad's iFly first, then turn on the airplane's avionics switch to boot up the Ping wifi router, giving it time to establish a connection with the iPad before powering up the 740. I did all that and was seeing ADSB traffic on the 740 shortly before taking off. Unfortunately, two things went wrong with my plan:  One was that I forgot to make sure the iPad was connected to Ping. That's a PIA because I can't use the ADSB Status instrument on the iPad Mini 6 Cellular Version, which crashes the instant I touch that instrument, so I have to force it to connect via the Settings menu instead. (PA doesn't seem to believe my bug reports about that, but it's real--happens with two other instruments, too.) The other thing that went wrong was that I by the time I got to pattern altitude I was in IMC, so I cut the flight short and landed immediately.

Hi Don:

The firmware settings that I posted are the settings currently on my new Echo and still caused the error message.

I'm flying this morning so I'll see if it happens again. I don 't use an iPad along with the iFly so I can't try your work around

George

Oho. Your problem may be different from mine, then. I don't think I get the error unless a second device (740 AND iPhone or iPad) is also connected to Ping.

does your device act strange when connected to any other wifi network?
