AP says it can't be don't because your Surface will not have a device ID. I tried it last night with IFly and WingX and could not get them into the AMIDuOS application.
Really? Seems Dave is doing it and "it seems to work well." Read Dave's posts in this thread. I want to hear from Dave or Walter or Shane as they don't appear cto suggest it cannot be done. ====RG
Yes, really...

"Please be advised that the iFly GPS software will work on Blue stacks, however it is not confirmed that the touch interaction will work, nor will the subscription modeling work.

Bluestacks does not assign a device ID, so there is no unique ID to assign to your iFly account, thus it will remain on a 5 minute mode. I demo'd this to possibility to Walter and Brian many, many months ago, but there are numerous bug and issues with this combo.

This Windows or Mac / Bluestacks scenario is not currently supported by iFly GPS app. It may be something they get fully working in the future, but not at this time. Just wanted to make sure you are all aware of this...

I was able to install AMIDuOS and install iFly GPS for Android on my Surface Pro 4. I downloaded the apk file and then right-clicked to move to AMIDuOS. I did not know about that until I read it above. Now, I have the 5 minute limit to deal with. I'm trying to add the $20 multi-platform option using my IPhone and/or IPad, but the system won't let me. I'm sure someone can solve that tomorrow. Then, I'll try to register the Surface Pro 4 on my account as an Android device. If it won't register, then I might be out $20.

Dave:
I am so pleased that this works so well on my Surface Pro 3 running Win 8.1. I installed AMIDuOS, Android version 5.1.1, then installed the iFly GPS app from the Play Store. Had ZERO issues registering my subscription. I've played with it all evening and it's been flawless all night. The touchscreen and all features work great. I had to initialize my position using the Simulation mode, but that was easy. With Nexrad and METAR/TAF layers enabled in the Map Modes, it updates all the weather repeatedly and automatically. Thanks for the post on the Forum that tipped us off to this capability. =====Ralph

Ralph, how did you get to the Play Store from within AMIDuOS?

EDIT: Never mind. I see you can get there with the browser.

System won't let me add multi-platform option. I think it might be because I'm running the beta version of iFly. I guess I need to call Monday and have that added.
