Hey guys,
I was wondering what folks are doing to mount their 700/720 to their panel? I have a perfect spot at the top of my radio stack where I'd like to mount my 700.

I found a guy that had posted picts of his 700 mount on shortwing.org. He modified an AN4 bolt by grinding down the head and then somehow attached that bolt to a piece of sheet metal at the top of his radio stack. I have the exact same situation in my radio stack (in the same plane Piper Colt). I have a piece of black sheet metal at the top of my radio stack in the same position as the attached pictures.

What I'm wondering is there another option I can use instead of grinding an AN4 bolt head down to use as the 700 mount?

Thanks,
Walt

was just watching the video tour on the main page of the website, and they showed a guy unplugging his iFly from his panel. There looked like some sort of attachment they had that the iFly mounted to that was perfect for this. but I don't see it on the website for sale...

You can see it at 2:10 into the video.

Walt,

Here is a mount that I found, it is slim, removable and allows for tilting and swiveling with quick release lift and go. The iFly 700/720 is very flat on the back and I wanted to keep power cord plug and USB update port accessible as they are located on the right side. This also allows me to easily swivel to portrait mode for Plates and Diagrams and for when Portrait Mode comes. Guess you can tell I am one of the biggest advocates for Portrait Mode...

The website I found a swivel mount at is www.mountonus.com, they have lots of different universal mounting options.

Below is an image of my unit mounted. On the swivel mount, you’re really only needing the male plate if you don't need the flexibility of the swivel and tilt. You can probably search their site for just that male plate that connect to the back plate #202001. Below is my panel with the full swivel mount. It holds great and gives nice adjustments if I ever need to adjust a major glare spot out of the way, (like the flash you see here). It's a simple solution but is works and gets lots of compliments.

Brodit #215058 (Swivel / Tilt Base)

Brodit #202001 (Back Plate) strong adhesive back sticks to the back of iFly 700

Hope this helps… Please let me know if I can be of further assistance.
