This is my iFly720 mounted in the panel of my KR2. The picture was taken during a flight to a nearby airport. The strips around the edges are simply to protect the edges of the iFly. The panel was water jet cut for me. The six screws around the iFly attach a backing plate using spacers to get my prefered installation. The iFly is connected to the backing plate using part of one of the mounts that was supplied. The little round thing with the cover on it that you see on the lower right, is the USB port. I know the iFly can be updated using WIFI and I have done that, but with the plane parked outside the metal hangar where the wireless router is, in our club house, I kept loosing packets, so decided that this would be the most trouble free way. The USB can also be used to update my Dynon, which is connected to the iFly for the NMEA codes, so I can get Wind Speed and Direction on the Dynon. When doing this, you have to be able to switch the pin 2 of the DB9 serial connector, on and off. I have installed a switch to do that. I have also installed the SkyRadar L model ADSB for weather and will post a picture of that as soon as I get an opportunity to fly with weather nearby.
