I built this mount to hold the iFly with battery behind. 3M Dual lock holds the gps and battery in.

I happen to have a an3 bolt and it fits tightly in the back of the 700. I have not made a mount yet, heck I havn't finshed my panel yet.

This is my iFly720 mounted in the panel of my KR2. The picture was taken during a flight to a nearby airport. The strips around the edges are simply to protect the edges of the iFly. The panel was water jet cut for me. The six screws around the iFly attach a backing plate using spacers to get my prefered installation. The iFly is connected to the backing plate using part of one of the mounts that was supplied. The little round thing with the cover on it that you see on the lower right, is the USB port. I know the iFly can be updated using WIFI and I have done that, but with the plane parked outside the metal hangar where the wireless router is, in our club house, I kept loosing packets, so decided that this would be the most trouble free way. The USB can also be used to update my Dynon, which is connected to the iFly for the NMEA codes, so I can get Wind Speed and Direction on the Dynon. When doing this, you have to be able to switch the pin 2 of the DB9 serial connector, on and off. I have installed a switch to do that. I have also installed the SkyRadar L model ADSB for weather and will post a picture of that as soon as I get an opportunity to fly with weather nearby.

Hi All

Just finished installing 720 in my VariEZE and it seems to be working fine. I hard wired it into my ckt bkr panel with a "Philmore" DC plug W/6' cord. No. TC204. 1.3 x 3.5mm.($1.98) @ local electronics shop. One problem which I have had is that the DC plug sometimes wiggles and becomes disconnected and the unit shuts off. This has several times. I tie wraped the DC to the plug for the NMEA output and that seems to have helped. Really would like to have the unit in Portrate position because in an EZE there isn't much room.

That is correct. We've been working with AirGizmo and they just posted the new mount on thier website. You'll also notice that the AirGizmo Dock also holds the External Battery behind the iFly 700 or 720. Now you have the ability for a hidden battery backup. Below is a link with several images as well. It is also my understanding that you can portrait mount the Panel Dock in a standard radio stack. This will be great for when Portrait Mode is released later this summer.

We are trying to get setup with inventory for our store. Stay tuned.
