Personally, I don't use synthetic vision either, but I'm not sure there's much to explain.  The intended use is to help identify objects of interest out the window for navigational awareness and collision avoidance (airports, terrain, obstacles, traffic targets).  There's nothing really additional over the information provided on the 2D moving map, except the 3rd dimension (maybe there is some attitude information provided if there is an AHRS source, but I'm not sure).  I'm definitely not the best person to talk about the benefits of EFIS. 

If you really want to engage people on that topic, I'd recommend starting another post rather than hijacking this one.

I don't think EFIS adds a lot for VFR flight.  In IFR conditions it would be very beneficial if it was IFR legal, which it's not.
