With the introduction of the new AGL altimeter, could not a analog CDI with glideslope be in our near future? Shooting ILS approaches in my Day Light VFR only home built would really be fun! - Jim Williams

I'm sorry, Cobra. I never meant to imply an unsafe practice. I'm VFR only, so when I say "shoot ILS approaches", what I mean is practicing ILS approaches under the hood in VFR conditions. And of course I always carry a safety pilot with me when doing this sort of flying. Even though I don't fly real IFR, I like to keep my instrument skills up to speed. - Jim Williams

It is a fair question. The main reason we've have not added this feature is because of the inherant error that can occur in GPS reported altitude. But it's still on the list; perhaps to only work if a WAAS gps lock is established.
