Someone asked about current charts. I ALWAYS update my charts the night before a flight. That is also when I input my flight plan if I know where I'm going, etc. This way, you know you have the latest information and everything is working OK before driving to the airport. This is easy for me because I use an iPad and iPhone.
If using an iFly device that stays in the airplane, I'm not sure how to deal with this because I don't know how or when you update them.
