I'm not aware of any ADSB-IN portable that includes the "AD" side of things (Air Data).  If your EchoUAT is limited to 978 only as the name implies (except for rebroadcasts when in range of a tower), I'd suggest getting a Stratux with AHRS and using it as your ADS-B IN, and relegating your EchoUAT to OUT only.

Thank you iFly for the update today for SynVision.

In anticipation of SynVision I updated my Stratux with the AHRS module after reading Michael Marra’s posts on AHRS.

My install was really easy. After installing AHRS, iFly recognized AHRS was installed and blasting the warning siren because it thought I was upside down. I have an app on my iPhone called Stratux (which I can’t find in the app store anymore, it was free also) which recognized AHRS was installed with buttons to calibrate AHRS. It only wanted to point the Stratux toward the pointy end.

It's nice that the iFly now has the option to shutdown the Stratux

I have a tail dragger so after I flew, I brought it home to calibrate level.

Now I’ll have to go flying today to test fly with SynVision, Thanks iFly for the update.

You can orient your Stratux anyway you want.  Just go to 192.168.10.1 and page 4 of the Menu.

It's recommended calibrating during calm air, but It's that time of year where you are like bugs being shaken in a jar. :)

Hello All,

I have a question regarding the Stratux and AHRS... Do you need to have the fan installed to have the AHRS work? I built my Stratux about 2 years ago (No AHRS/GPS/FAN/Etc - Just the 2 freq antennas for the traffic). I ordered the $15 AHRS Module and installed and updated the firmware to the latest software (4d4?). The 1st time I turned on the Stratux, I got the warning tone from the AHRS being over banked. Since then, nothing. The Stratux will connect for the traffic with no problem, but the AHRS shows that it is not there. The AHRS screen for the calibration is grayed out and won't allow any adjustments. Is it required that the fan be installed for the AHRS to work? It's the only thing I can think of....

(PS: Thinking that I had to upgrade from the Raspberry Pi2 to the Raspberry Pi3, I ordered the Pi3 and swapped everything to the new board and the symptoms are all the same. No difference at all.)

Thanx,

Chris.
