I've already adapted my remote by threading some SS wire under the battery door, and attaching it inside the remote (I hot glued it inside so it wouldn't risk touching elecronic components.). I hooked one of those plastic badge loop/snap devices through the wire. The badge loop is on a retractable cord thigie as mentioned above. The housing for the retractable cord I hook to my seat belt chest strap.

I would hesitate using the velcro for two reasons. One, I fly a club plane and prefer not to stick velcro, etc. to it because if every one stuck their own stuff everywhere, it wouldn't look too good, and possibly be in the way. Second the tether means I just have to let it go when I'm finished, and it will be right where I know it should be when needed. With the velcro, I'd have to make a consious effort to return it to it's proper place, and ensure the velcro is properly secured.

This suggestion was meant for future consideration when they order a new batch or style of remotes.

Thanks for the suggestions though, if my method fails, I'll have other things to ponder.
