Thanks, Jeff--I saw your post in the beta forum too.  I'll check that out--I bet that's my problem.  (Now I wonder how it got changed, though...)

I remember it being there too - I'm guessing it was an "always there" item that got changed to a "user selectable" option and the new default is "off".

Along similar lines, when users use the two point ruler to find a distance (which seems more intuitive than panning the map to find a distance), if one of those points is ownship (with a generous margin for tap), perhaps iFly could show an ETA there too.

Fixed that for you.

I sometimes use the two-point function.  However, that requires two fingers and some precision, and it also requires the two endpoints to be visible on the screen together, which might require some zoom adjustments.  In other words, it can sometimes require a bunch of taps.

On the other hand, one finger, quick drag, see what you want to see, let go, done.  (Or maybe tap the re-center button if you don't want to wait for the auto-recenter function to kick in.  Still just one finger, though.)

It's nice that iFly has different ways to do things so that different users with different preferences can be happy.

How do I get the Auto-Center button to kick in? Is that the "Enable Tracking" mode? Is there a timer setting for how long it takes to kick in? I might use it if I could set it to Track in, say, 2 minutes. Or easily override it. (Don't want it Centering on me when I've got the Map panned to real something.) Never mnd. I found it. Looks like Brian has already thought of this timer feature. I'll try it set at 1 minute, motion only and see how it works. Thanks for the tip!

I agree that Cobra's method has its advantages, for the reasons he gave. I still think that the ruler is more intuitive. I'll probably end up zooming out to see my endpoint and use the ruler.
