I haven't thought this thru, so just throwing it out for brain-storming purposes.

I have AutoTaxi+ enabled, and I like the way that iFly initializes to the Taxi view for taxiing.

Nevertheless, sometimes, before I start to taxi, I'll go back to the Map to look at weather or terrain or something as I think about departure. But when it's time to taxi, there's no easy way to get back to the Airport Diagram.

So how about this: When you're in Ground mode, and when own ship is centered (so that there's no green dot button), the green dot changes to an Expand icon. (4 arrows on diagonals pointing outward.) That way, you could tap on that button and get back into the Taxi mode without having to click the zoom + button a million times.

Either that or make the zoom buttons adaptive in the sense that, if you tap and hold, or tap the + button three times quickly, it jumps into Taxi mode?

(It seems like a similar clever adaptive button could be used in Flight Mode, where, when you've tapped the Green center button, it changes to another button (like, view Destination? Or NRST? Or ?) until you pan away from ownship.)

Thanks for the heads up. I just tried it.

When I do it, it offers me the RealView. (As opposed to the Diagram.)

(But then I did it again, then went to the pop up Plates button, selected Diagram, and now the long press menu offers me Diagram instead. I don't know if that will persist across shut downs or work for all future airports.)

But even now that you've told me about this, now that QV is here, I never think of using the long press anymore.

And even if I used long press, I find it confusing to have to mentally keep track of what options are available via two different menus. (I'm trying to think of a good analogy - it's like having two icons on a desktop that virtually do the same thing, but are different enough that you have to keep track of which does what. Like maybe "Save" and "Save As?")

So even now that I know the trick, I will probably just keep zooming in like crazy to get the Airport Diagram back, since, in my mind, that is the most intuitive action. But I realize that there is already an option (kinda-sorta) for what I asked for. So unless a bunch of other users chime in asking for an adaptive button ...
