I don't think you're starting any kind of trouble at all, Jeff. I agree with multiple timers, which could be labeled by the user. There are more than fuel tank switches that need to be monitored on a given flight, and a distinct label for each would be mandatory in order to be assured that the pic is responding correctly.

My two grains, put it in the flight planner, and Make it so that the user label them, "timer ..blah ..blah.."add "timer..blah ..blah"..add.. Etc.
as many as you guys can make it and a "save" button, then make them start on take off

Ciao

Well said, my thoughts exactly....

In my opinion all the timers should not be based on some defined forward speed number. I can see where that can be useful, but I would much rather have a timer start when I press start, or stop, or reset, instead of it starting and stopping on its own once a certain speed is hit. In a helicopter I can do an entire lesson with a student at less than 30-40 kts. Or when I'm doing event rides I may do 10-12 circuits (rides) in an hour with 30-40 seconds on the ground in between each. I have to use alternate timers to count down my 2 hour fuel stop and/or to count up the 4-5-6 minute ride.

KISS. Just make it a simple timer that the pilot can program the alert time and have it start on take-off. When he sees the alert, he will remember what it is for. Then, one click on the alert to restart the timer. It's easy to make things like this so complicated that they are more trouble than they are worth.

Brian,Shane,
So Oldpilot basically reiterated my original wishlist scenario/paradigm at the start of this post. Sounds like everyone has the same idea... I do agree maybe just start simple... Didn't think of allowing that to have a customizable title block.. We look forward to it in a future release...
