Yes, we have discussed putting a "WX" icon on the screen that would allow enabling the WX features like NexRad and Reports on various modes.

Essentially removing the Weather Mode and just having a button or icon to enable WX, but also allowing the WX features on other modes. This is not confirmed, but something we are looking into for a future software update.

Yes, I believe transparency is going to be given when it gets to displaying Nexrad on Sectional Mode. Others us a different projection mode than we do, however it is in our plans to offer both Chart Tile mode and Seamless mode in the future.

As for the button, I was more talking about a way to enable or disable it while on the sectional or other mode for that matter. Sorry for any confusion.

I downloaded the iPad version of the iFly to test it and, lo and behold, the weather mode (which gets rid of the roads) will show restricted, MOAs and alert areas in the iPad. In the iFLy 720 (at least at the software level I am at) it will not.

That would make vector mode very useful to me if implemented in the iFly hardware.

BTW, I think the iPad version is great. It did crash a few times but I am sure they will work out the bugs with time. I did find the iPad less bright than the 720 so I still like the 720 better.

In any case, the iPad is my son's and he got quite upset at me when I took it to test the iFly app so I don't think I will be using it on a regular bases anytime soon :)
