Agree, that is why I stated you can save the GPX file to a USB drive. Then just load the Flight from the USB drive, allowing you to leave your GPS in your plane and just carry the SD card for updating and the USB drive for importing the Flight Plan files.

Walter has the program looking at the USB drive only, at this time. It might be an option later to have it look at a "Flight Plans" folder of sort on the SD card. I'll push that one up the Wish-list ladder.

I still think having a online flight planner and would save the flight to your account and then when you run iFly Connect it could pull in those online built flight plans in order to be loaded on the iFly.

That would allow for the type updating you mention, leave the GPS in the plane and just rotate an SD card, for updating at home and taking to the plane.

I looked around the AOPA planner and don't see where I can export the flight plan. What tab does this come unter?

The new FlyQ from AOPA doesn't allow you to save a flight plan anymore. Maybe in the future?

I just noticed that too. They moved from the Native Flight Planner to the FlyQ Web. Looks like they did not carry that feature over. I'll have to see if I can find a few other Alternatives to post. Sorry about that guys.

Yeah, according to this change log, the new FlyQ was supposed to have an export function, but it wasn't working well so they removed it "until additional testing could be completed". http://www.aopa.org/Flight-Planning/F...

I wouldn't hold my breath for that feature to return any time soon.
