I see that iFly Streets is now available. What I don't see is any indication of the price for updates to the map data. Are they included in the iFly subscription? If not, how much does it cost to update these data, and how often do they need updating?

8-17-11, I'm beginning to get that old feeling again...! I've had my Adventure Pilot for just over a year now, and I just paid for the latest VFR and IFR annual data up grades for $89. So now there're saying that if I had waited to buy Streets from their store today or had been lucky enough to get the "Steets" at Airventure I could have gotten this data for $39, this is the price quoted for the VFR and IFR data in the store when I buy the Streets license. Holy screw job Batman...

And by the way, The "street data" up date price quoted at Naviextras.com is $44.95 for the entire US not $39 as they state, and a some way to "connect the device to your computer"..??..! Now for those who want to "barf" on Microsoft, you're going to love this -- MS owns "Naviextras", so you better have a MS OS, a Mac won't do it for you for an up date...

Dave,

Now I'm feeling old: Can you explain again what leads you to the "Hold screw job Batman" statement? Maybe a misunderstanding somewhere: The iFly Streets upgrade is $60, and is only available to folks with a valid data subscription. If you have this upgrade, and sometime in the future you want to update the street database, you do that on the naviextras website. And they charge $39.95 for that (I just double-checked that figure...don't know why you're seeing $44.95). I think you're right about them not supporting mac, not much I can do about that.

Thanks, Walter

Hi Dave,

I think there may be some confusion on this. The iFly Streets upgrade adds $39 for a single iFly Software Update, total is $99 ($60+$39). This is not the same as an Annual Subscription, but only a one-time update. If you add $39 x 12mo, I think you will agree the Annual Subscription is the best value and safest to fly with. Annual Subscription allows you unlimited downloads including the upcoming Version Update just weeks away. The $39 Single update would not.

I also believe all iFly Owners would agree that our ethics and business history does not warrant the "Holy screw job Batman" phrase. Adventure Pilot highly values all of our owners and makes every effort to offer the highest values for data and iFly products.

When we send out an iFly Streets SD card, it has the latest software. So those with out an annual data subscriptions are getting new sectionals, plates, and etc on that disk for a $39 fee. They cannot download additional data or software. Only what ships on that card is new, nothing further.

We greatly appreciate your business and support, we only ask forum posters to think out these rash references before posting as it does not owners or the company. We do completely understand that there can be confusion in how some may read or interpret items. We do try to make it simple and easy like our device. Thanks again for your business and support.

I saw the $44.95 price as well. https://www.naviextras.com/shop/portal/home

Map of United States
The latest maps for United States, with road coverage with over 6 562 600 miles / 10 561 500 kilometers of updated roads.
44.95 USD
69.95 USD

Hmmm, on the site it asks you to "register" which seems to mean to simply specify what device (iFly) you're using. Once I did that the prices I saw were:

$9.95 for either Canada or U.S., $19.95 for both, and $39.95 for Mexico. I presume those prices are for updates once the original program is purchased and installed.
