While flying this weekend, I got lots of alerts for airspace and traffic. Normally, I don't use the "more" button, and the alert bar hugs the bottom of the screen (and I use portrait mode, if that makes a difference).

On my outbound leg, I did play with the "More" button to get add'l traffic details. Unfortunately, after the first time I used the "More" button, which increased the size of the alert window, all subsequent alerts appeared on the screen as if at the top of the expanded window.

In other words, it was as if my normal ~2 line alert that normally hugs the bottom of the screen moved up about 2 inches on the screen (I could see my moving map both above and below it).

This behavior persisted for the remainder of the flight, and even persisted after a poweroff / back on cycle.

Is this a bug? Is there a way to force the alert bar back to the bottom of the screen after choosing "More"?

This was for all alerts, both traffic and airspace.

I'm wondering if this is some sort of rare/intermittent problem. It's been a while since the last software update, and I've used my 720 multiple times since then, and I've never noticed this behavior before this weekend.

Hard for me to think of anything unique I did to cause it, though. As I mentioned, I mostly acknowledged the alerts without expanding the window via the "more" button, but the first time I clicked "more", the bar moved up (with the expanded text window) and all subsequent alerts appeared in that upper location.

Only other thing I can think might be related is that I did click-and-hold on some traffic targets to get more info on them before I ever clicked the "more" button for an alert.

Hmm. I don't think that's likely. I'm positive that all I did was click the "More" button in the lower left, and it expanded to fill the lower 1/4 or 1/3 of the screen (as expected). After that, clicking the Alert button would pop the bar up to that level. I never dragged nuthin'.

I appreciate the info on how to relocate the bar, though. I suspect that will solve my issue, and will try it at the next available opportunity.

I will say that I was having a lot of trouble with screen calibration that day. I wonder if that might be related. I went through probably 20 calibration cycles that didn't take...crosshairs kept jumping back to the middle and repeating the cycle instead of allowing me to save the new calibration. Had to reboot the box to break out of that cycle, then I'd try again a little later with the same results. Eventually got it to take the calibration after I got back down on the ground, but even then I had to chase the crosshairs around the screen twice to get it to save.
