After flying my RV for 25 hours this week I am concerned about my iFly 720. Daily after about an hour of flying I get a message that says ADSB signal lost. I use a compatable SkyRadar unit. I go into Setup and it shows as connected. My Skyradar is also connected to my Wing X Pro. It never lost signal. I saw traffic on the iFly a week ago around Washington DC, but not since. The Wing X Pro occassionally saw traffic the entire week.

Not sure why this is so. Thoughts?

George,

We've noticed a sporadic Wi-Fi behavior on a few occasions and some units. Try disconnecting from all "PRE" networks on your iFly 720. Then only connect the iFly 720 to the SkyRadar. I suspect it was trying to cycle and reconnect to a "PRE" network if the SkyRadar signal gets weak or interrupted. By removing all the "PRE" networks there are no other networks for the iFly 720 to try.

This is a temporary workaround. See if this helps you maintain a solid connection and please report back with your results, Software version and serial number. This will help up isolate it more as well. Thanks for your understanding and feedback.

My Skyradar and iFly reside within 3 feet of each other in the airplane. Version is 7.6.7

George,

Something to check is to only connect one unit at the same time to the SkyRadar. I've seen where the SkyRadar was not handling being connected to 2 devices of different type at the same time (peer-to-peer vs LAN network). Some of the SkyRadar units only supported one IP address or a static IP address and this could be a product of the internal DHCP server. I'll have to do some additional testing if we can get a D2 from Alexey at Radenna.

I'd be curious if you only connected the SkyRadar to the iFly, if you saw traffic. Also, make sure the IP settings on the Wi-Fi setup page on the iFly 720 is populating with numbers. Something like 192.254.xxx.xxx and a subnet of 255.255.xxx.xxx, as this will tell you if you are truly connected. I hope this helps.
