Just received the 740.
For the years I've used the 720 I got a second 8GB SD card and cloned my orignal card.
Find it convenient to rotate the cards between plane and home and update them at home with iFly Connect on Windows.

Was about to go out and get a 16GB blank card to clone the one that arrived with the 740.

Then remembered that not all SD cards are created equal (even at same capacity).

Checked and see they come in speed classes: four different speed classes — 10, 8, 4, and 2. 10 is the fastest, while 2 is the slowest.

In short.... are there any gotcha's I should watch for when shopping locally for a second card for my 740?
Any brand you recommend or avoid?
(If I thought of it, I'd have just ordered a second card from you with the 740...but now prefer to pick up locally.)

I've been using a 16GB SanDisk SDHC card, class 4, with my 740 without any problems.

Alex,

We've had good luck with Sandisk or Samsung. I would avoid the cheapest brands. The card clasification mostly refers to write speed, and is very important for cameras and video recorders that require ability to write quickly to the card. But it doesn't result in a very detectable difference in the iFly performance.

Thanks!
Walter
