I have a 700 and the Skyradar L series ADBS system. Because I fly a Champ I tend not to fly in any weather and would use the combination for 'weather avoidance' . Thus, I have no real experience in using the units. This afternoon fairly heavy rain showers passed through while I was working in the hangar so I thought it would be a good chance to check things out once they passed the airport. I took the plane to altitude and at first I had both the ADBS light and the power light on but no GPS light. Eventually the GPS light and the other three came on but no indication of weather on the IFLY. Also noticed no indication of 'live weather'. Unsure what is going on ....?????

Did you have Nexrad turned on in your Map Layers? You also need to turn on Metar/TAF.

I have the latest updates and they were checked for whatever it's worth.

What it's worth is that they have to be turned on. It was possible you did not have them on. Sorry, just trying to help you.

Sorry poor choice of words on my part :( Anyway, it seems to me that I should have seen something considering the weather had just passed. I tend not to fly in even marginal weather so I'm not exactly sure how everything works. It's a little hard to figure things out in bumpy air and of course weather doesn't work on the ground. I have had trouble with the cables disconnecting at times when things are ' bouncing around' but I don't think that was the case today.

Thanks for the input and I'm going back to square one tomorrow.

Mike
