Okay, so when is V9 coming out? These terrain alerts are harshing my mellow. Also, put me at the top of the iFly 740 upgrade list :)

Chuck,

Version 9 Beta was released for beta testing this week. We typically see it in the beta status for about 4 weeks. I would expect that we will be pushing V9 to all users in the next 4-6 weeks.

As for the new iFly 740. We are expecting these in the next week or so. Feel free to give me a call for more information. We will be sending out an email and press release once we have them in hand.

So, I'm playing with my new 740 and, yes, it is very nice - everyone go out and buy one!

Just so I know I'm using it right: I want no, zero, zip, nada altitude or terrain warnings. It appears V9 fixed the bug with getting unselected altitude warnings in that the screen no longer flashes red and gives the audible terrain warning. However, I'm still getting the red exclamation point. I can live with that, but prefer not to train myself to ignore red exclamation points. Is that deselctable, fixable?

Also, there seems to be a new, audible "500" call. Agian, I do not want that, so same question.

Thanks. Great job on V9 and the new 740.

Chuck,

We're going to enable a way to remove the exclamation point. Might be 9.1...but that won't be far after 9.0 is released. Well noted about the 500 callout, we'll put that on the list too.

Thanks, Walter. I really like V9 and the new 740. The screen rocks and the new pop-up is very user-friendly.

In the long run I hope all the alerts are individually select/deselectable. Traffic, Terrain, Obstacle and airspace warnings have differing value to different users. I prefer zero terrain and traffic but adjustable Airspace and obstacle alerts. Other users would obviously have different choices.

The new layers concept is also great, BTW. I hope you expand on that.
