Our Nexus 7 (2013) do not have problems in Texas for long cross counties in my tip up canopy RV-7.

One or two questions, Can you change the battery without a major surgery on the unit?1
is the unit available with a AHRS?2

Ciao, the battery is not intended to be replaced. And the 740 will not have an internal AHRS options, although it does support numerous external options for that.

That is the first thing that I've heard about an iFly that I don't like. Most current elecrtonic devices out-last their batteries. I'd hate to have to purchase a new unit in three years because the battery won't hold enough charge to be an effective back-up power source. I love the 720, and will carefully evaluate the 740, though the connectivity with the ELT, fuel gauges, etc. makes it really tempting.
