I use my Ifly in my homebuilt and it is coupled to a Dynon EFIS. Works great! As we all know there is a 2020 deadline looming on the installation of ADS-B out. Seems that Navworx has a UAT that is now fully certified and meets the 2020 requirement for experimental aircraft and is fairly cheap (about $1000 with antennas and cables). I'm curious to know it the ADS-B in for this unit is compatible with the iFly 720.

Thanks!

Hank

Hank,
Which Dynon model are you using? I'm building a Van's RV-12 with the current Dynon Skyview that will have a wifi module. I'm hoping my iFly 720 will interact effectively with it. Is this similar to your plane's equipment?

Hi Jim,

I have the 10A, the smallest one they make. I couple it through the usb plug on the iFly which then goes into a usb to rs232 converter (which iFly sells) and then into the Dynon. It is a one wire connection that passes the streaming NMEA output from the iFly to the Dynon. Works great. Since I have the OAT sensor and remote mag compass for the Dynon it also gives me a wind vector. Not sure how you would do it with the Skyview.

Hank,
I've heard of another pilot who connected his ifly 720 to a Dynon via the add-on wifi for his Dynon. I was hoping that you were doing the same thing.

Thanks,
Jim
