The date/time automatically syncs with the GPS signal, so a lock is required to get your initial time set.

Re: Clock  Modified By citabriabob on 6/23/2014 12:07:49 PM

Went flying yesterday; 720 was updated night before, but not flown for a week or more.

Clock was again off by about 3 hrs. Exited application and looked at settings. Time zone was correct, but Daylight time was not checked; daylight had been on since April - could the updates have turned it off???

About 45 minutes into the outbound leg, I turned off power for about 30 seconds and when it came back, it read correctly.

This is getting old....

I think I was in this thread before. I had to update this morning using the zip file method. I attached my external antenna before it. When I got done the time was correct. This is the first time in a long time?

More problems with my '720 GPS date. While flying this morning I again noticed the METAR's were over 7500 minutes old, so I exited the iFly software and found the device date to be showing Tues, 6/24, with the correct time of day. I had to reboot the iFly device to get the date to correct. I had solid GPS lock with WAAS, and tried both internal and ADSB GPS before resorting to a reboot.

This seems to be happening with increasing frequency, sometimes it's just the date, and sometimes it's the date and time that are incorrect. (Running current production software.)

Is this possibly a hardware problem? I never saw this with my '700, or in the first year with my '720.

David,

By chance do you have your 720 set to automatically boot to Navigation Mode. I've seen this before where the Nav starts before the system time is updated completely. A reboot fixes it or simple letting it boot to the Main Screen and then touching Navigation seems to help as well. There was some logic added to help this, but it is not working correctly.

In the next software update, we are adding some logic to better resolve this. Nothing is wrong with your hardware, it is a software bug. I hope this helps and have a great July 4th weekend.
