Clock

Updated (WiFi) last night, went flying today. Not sure when it changed, but the clock was showing 3 hrs. earlier, what looked like Pacific Time. Bought 720 home, looked at setup, thinking I need to set it correctly, but it was fine- EST. The sectional screen was showing the correct time!? What happened?

Another item is the elapsed time: Last couple of times, it was showing some, even though I reset it. No groundspeed in my living room ;-)

7.7.6, FL12020499. In the time it took to look this up, the 720 logged another 14 seconds.

If it has a very weak signal, the position points will be spread apart. This can trick the iFly to simulate moving, which will engage the timer.

As for the clock, do you have a solid GPS signal. The time is updated off of GPS signal, but the Time Zone is not. If the Time Zone is set, then the clock just needs to update itself. Make sure you power cycle the iFly for at least 30 seconds after you make time zone or DST changes.

If you are still getting a bad time after confirming this, please let us know.

As I said, the clock indicated 3 hrs. earlier in flight (that's where my assumpion came from), but checking later (at home) it showed the correct time zone - a mystery. Have not flown it since, but hope to get out next week and see what happens.

That is very strange. If you see this again, please let us know. I'll also pass this along to Walter so they can see if there is anything going on, possibly looking at a old time stamp until a current time comes in.

How long would you say you were flying with the GPS in the plane the first time it happen and it showed 3 hours earlier? Had you been flying for a while and have a GPS lock for a good amount of time?

My 720 picks up satellites pretty quickly; usually ready to go by the time it finishes all it's boot-up machinations.

I vaguely remember seeing the correct time before takeoff, and noticed the discrepancy at some point during the one hour flight; time was off by the three hours until shutdown.

Unit was powered off for several hours until I set it up at home to check the time issue.
