I was flying along with my 700 and the Skyradar "L" attached and tried to move from the weather mode to the sectional but it seemed to freeze on the weather mode (couldn't seem to get to the sectional mode). I had to reboot the 700 and then it seemed to work although I was close to home so unsure if that 'fixed' the problem. Any ideas??

Thanks,

Mike

Ed, don't know if this helps others, but I had 'frame freeze' quite a lot 'til I did a re-calibration. The freezes were in the flight plan page, and I couldn't get back to the map once from the photos. I had some other lock-ups and was getting a bit frustrated. Then - by mistake! - I hit the calibrate box on the home page, performed it, and so far I haven't had any problems. I suspect the soft keys weren't lined up properly and the calibration routine re-aligned them. But what do I know. I'm a liberal arts major!

best regards,

Dave Harvey.

I haven't had a chance to try it again ( other stuff keeps getting in the way). I did talk to David on the phone and he suggested a external antenna which I have on order. I can also try the calibration. Anyway, I'll probably bend your ear to Oshkosh if it doesn't work.

I have experienced this several times over the past 6 months or so, it only seems to occur when connected to the Skyradar, and when switching back and forth between weather, sectionals, and IFR low. It seems the more times you switch back and forth, the more likely. In most instances, the location data and course lines still show up and function, but there's no background (Keeps saying "loading data...."). My latest flight I used the ipad to connect with the skyradar, and not the iFly, and had no problems. I'll try the recalibration prior to my next flight.
