I used to fly with a Tab A 7 inch and found that tablet to be OK for my needs and at the time it was great. Yes, the screen resolution is less compare to the AMOLED screens and I found that on long crosscountry's in summer that the Tab A would overheat and shutdown requiring me to direct a small fan on the Tab in flight. It could have been a fluke for that particular tablet with that battery, but my new Tab S 8.4 is bullet proof. Battery lasts almost forever, never overheats, fires up fast, bright and clear and is the preferred tablet over the S2. Smaller than a 10 inch tablet allowing better via on the instrument panel if yoke mounted. The 7 inch is truly ideal for instrument visual, but no model compares to the 8.4 Tab S.

Anyone having trouble updating the databases? It seems to hang downloading "Aviation Databases" -- either it just sits at the download page (I have good connectivity -- I can web browse) or returns to the map page but is hung up. Eventually I get the "iFly GPS isn't responding. Do you want to close it? Report Wait OK" Android screen.

I've seen this with several versions, currently running 9.8.10 3/11/2017.

I tried reporting directly from the App but didn't get a response.

I have no problems with app on my Android phone.

Is it still running slow for you?  It seems to be going the normal speed for me, trying it remotely.   And I apologize for you not getting a response direct from Adventure Pilot; we're packing up for the Sun-n-Fun airshow next week, and will be short-handed on support for the next 8 days.  For the best check of your internet connection speed, please try SpeedTest.NET.

The issue is NOT with connectivity. I can update to an Android phone with no problem. This is an issue on the Tablet itself (don't know if the problem is the Tablet or the App).
