Walter:
Still haveing heartbeat issues and Out Of Range issues. This happens mostly on descent to airports and in the pattern where it is needed most. During the "out of Range" message I can see 4-5 towers and targets so that has to be an IFLY issue.
However, today with the LG tablet in "Airpland Mode," I made it almost all the way to an airport 75 miles away before I started getting No heartbeat and disconnect from the Navworx unit which is under my seat with the wifi antenna only 12" below my tablet.
Then when taking off from that airport I couldn't get the WiFi from Navworx to connect or stay connected even though the tablet read an "excellent" signal.
However, I could connect and stay connected to my friends Stratus wifi signal even though his aircraft was 50 feet away and my tablet said his signal was "Poor."
When we got back I looked at his signal on my WiFi Analyzer app and found the Stratus is on Channel 6 and Navworx is on Channel 1. I am thinking that maybe channel 6 is a better for the electrical background noise of my cockpit.
The Navworx set up warns NOT TO CHANGE THE WIFI SETTINGS unless you contact them.
I don't understand. I can change the channels on my router in a minute.
