Jim, we have not done anything with that application. I've used x-plane from PC to iFly GPS with a serial cable, that works fine too. But this app works on an Android tablet, and uses the wifi network for communication between x-plane on the PC and the app.

Amazing ... Appropel has the IFly logo on their webpage for the app and mentions IFly has one of three compatible GPS's with their application. Maybe they did the testing.

Can't argue with free promotions and advertising :-)

I just discovered an android app to allow the use of iFly with Microsoft Flight Simulator X (FSX). It's called FSX2Android, and it will set you back $6.49. It is a two part solution. The free part, which you can test before buying, runs in the background along with FSX on your PC. It grabs the virtual GPS data from FSX and puts it on your wifi. The other parts is the android app running on your device, again in the background, along with iFly. It pulls the virtual GPS data off your wifi and replaces the real GPS data on the device with the data from FSX. You will need to tell the app running on the android device the IP address and port of your PC, but it is provided on the settings tab of the PC side.

Works like a charm for me. Glad to have found it! Another interesting thing is that it works with any android app that uses GPS data including Google Earth, Google maps, etc .

Jim

Awesome find. We'll put it in our support bank for future use. I may even add it and others found to our FAQ page. Thanks again and please keep us posted with any issues you may find. Hope you are having a Happy New Year.

Re: Jim_in_NH

The FSX2Anroid works perfectly with Flight Simulator X and the Android version of IFly. It is so easy to setup and use.

Has anyone tried using Flight Simulator for STEAM? If so, have you figured out how to gt FSZ2Android to work with the Steam version. All my attempts have failed.
