Had the unit out in some bad weather leaving Daytona Beach. The weather Nexrad showed up really well. Being a very busy airport i was bombarded with traffic alerts during the take off phase of the fligh causing a big distraction

. Is there a way to turn off the traffic warnings and then turn on again enroute?

Traffic alerts is improved (along with all the alerts) in version 7, I think that will fix your problem.
