I have been looking for an external permament antenna for the I-Fly. Does anyone know of one that will work?

Hi I am connecting my ifly to an existing Ka92 gps antenna I am only awaiting a bnc- mcx connector so will report back when I recieve it . The only concern is the ifly puts out 2.5 volts and the ka 92 needs 5 volts I am keeping my fingers crossed and will let you know asap.

Wouldn't it be worth spending $25 for the one AP sells specifically for the 700/720 that already has the correct connector, the correct voltage and the proven compatability? Who will you turn to if it doesn't work or if there's a problem down the road? What's $25 compared to navigating your airplane?

I discussed the situation with ifly who does not have any concerns about potential damage .Ii have a $900 king Ka92 antenna sitting on the roof .I might as well make use of it .

I can now confirm that using a bnc to mcx connector so that my ifly uses the ships external mount antenna a ka92 works great The ifly puts out a little over 2.5 volts and my antenna requests 5 volts but its enough juice to get the active antenna to work fine . I now get 12 satelites. When i run the gps diagnostics The test now indicates good when I used to get fail.

I do not think paying to install an external antenna is money well spent but if you got one on there already its well worth the $9.00 !!
