I hope this is not asking for too much at once. Have been studying adsb info for over a year. I have a StingSport SLSA and have waited till now for latest improvements for  ADSB in/out. systems. I think I am ready now to make the move. Don't want to wait till the last 6 months.

My current setup is:  Garmin 327 trans, Garmin 696 mounted in Airgizmo panel, TruTrak AP4 EFIS with autopilot, and IflyGPS 720 Portable on suction cup with Ping ADSB in-only chip. The 696 currently drives the TruTrak autopilot.

Considering your uAvionix echoUAT Tranceiver with the skyFYX GPS.

1. Would this work with my current installed avionics?

2. Will weather and traffic show on the Ifly via wi-fi,and on the 696?

3. The 696 could still be hardwired to the uAvionix if I removed the Iflygps.

4. If the 696 were removed, and the Ifly installed in the panel, will the ifly 720 drive the TruTrak autopilot?

5. Should I purchase a new 740 and uAvionix UAT bundle? Any advantages to the 740 over my current 720? are there any premade harness or wiring with the bundle?

6. Should I consider the Skybeacon? My understanding is that it would not interface with the 696?

Any suggestions or help would be appreciated.

Bruce

I was one of the unfortunate pilots that bought the Navworx unit. It worked well and I even got a pass when I did the PAPR test for the FAA. However, it was disqualified by the FAA. So $1500 down the drain.

Thankfully Dallas Avionics gave all Navworx customers a break on the Uavionics Echo and Skyfyx. These two units are the size of two Grahm Crackers stacked together. Basically 2 by 2 inches and weighing a few grams. Makes sense since Uavionics make ADSB for drones.

They even provided a cable that tied into the original Navworx cable so minimal installation time.

I use IFLY on my Android phone and tablet. There is no wiring to my Garmin Transponder. The unit just picks up the transponder transmissions and uses that info.

I am pleased with the unit and have used it for 4 months now.

Thanks John for your reply. I am glad the uAvionix system is working for out for you. Glad to get a report on a user of the system reliability and the company support. Reports on line seam to indicate its a good company. I met Shane at IflyGPS booth at oshkosh and he is very helpful; he now works for uAvionix. I don't want to invest in a dead horse, Sorry about Navworx.

Was hoping to hear Walter chime in especially on questions 4 and 5.

I talked to Shane and he thinks upgrading to a 740 or 740B would be beneficial because of the upgraded system, memory, and faster Processor.

If you already own a 740 and it works for you, I don't see why you would "upgrade" to the 740b.

I don't. I currently own a 4 year old 720, which I have been extremely happy with.
