Sure. I just connected mine direct. Try it & see how it works. Don't see why it wouldn't. YMMV. Bob

John, Sorry I didn't read your whole post before jumping in. Check page 3-5 in the manual. I hooked it to pin 22 on the D100. Be careful when doing a software update or data dump. The GPS &/or trutrak need to be off or disconnected. Bob

John, you might consider a 2.5 amp fuse to power the stratux. A full-up stratux can routinely draw 2.1 amps in normal service and that does not include a fan. Also, a "normal" USB power supply AND cable are both rated at 0.5 amps (USB spec)-- which is WAY short of what a full-blown, grown-up stratux needs.

Whichever power supply (and cable is just as important) you use, keep an eye on the red power LED on the stratux, at least until you get comfortable with it. If the red LED ever goes dark, even if it relights a moment later, you have a power supply problem and your data will be immediately suspect. Over time, it can also damage the Pi and/or peripherals attached to it.

I like your choice of equipment.

I power my Stratux 3 different ways. At home, I use an AC adapter that outputs 5V 2.4 amps. In the airplane I use a battery pack that outputs 5V 2.4 amps or I use a Dual 12V adapter that outputs 5V 2.4 amps. My Stratux has 2 receivers (978 and 1090) and a cooling fan.

It's all coming together. Pin 22 is also used on the D10A and pin 9 for a common ground. I'll branch off another IFLY ground for the Trutrak. I will use a 2.5 amp fuse for my USB power charger whick is rated at 2.4 amp/5 volts for the Stratux. Thanks all.
