I'd also try the new Stratux v0.9b1 image. In their release notes, it mentions upgrades and fixes to Linux as well as Stratux. I've also seen mention of a bug introduced several versions back that may cause dropouts or data stoppage. As far as I can tell, the plan sharing is the only thing I see that's fixed by the TP-Link but then all my recent flying has been with a Pi3 that has its own wifi built in. I plug in the Pi2/TP-Link sporadically in flight just to tinker or compare reception, etc. I've also built a small/cheap wireless remote control so I can power cycle the Stratux in case it stops responding. A while back I had to crawl into the back seat to cycle the Stratux in flight (it was on the hatrack powered by a portable battery), and vowed tofind an easier way. Now I can turn it on and off from the pilot's seat with the press of a button, and it's portable from plane to plane.

Any problems getting a WiFi connection (reboots req'd) with 0.9b1?

None for me. I always had 2 devices connected , an iFly 740 and an LG tablet, and neither device ever reported losing towers or heartbeat. My Android phone would automatically connect also, although I'd only occasionally look at it. I also have an old Android phone, no longer on a cell plan, that I use for checking the Stratux webpage so that's a total of 4 devices that would sometimes be connected at once. Never had a disconnect with any of them, and never had to reboot the Stratux. I also had a 2nd Stratux in the plane, a Pi2 with the TP-Link, that I booted up for part of the flight just to test it, and I connected to it with both phones (one has iFly). So with the two phones, I was intentionally connecting and reconnecting to both Stratux's without issue, and the 740 and tablet remained connected to the main Stratux, a Pi3, for the duration of the flight without a hiccup.

Jeff,
I'm sorry my post was not clear. Now with Stratux ver. 0.9b1 I'm only having problems establishing a connection on the initial boot up. My devices see the Stratux WiFi but won't connect. I'm seeing this on both my '720 and my Android tablet. I then reboot the Stratux and the connection is made and there have been no drops or loss of heartbeat for the balance of the flight, which is a huge improvement for me. I'm using a Pi3 with dual SDR's.
Thanks,
David

Ah ok. I haven't seen any issues like that. I did update my hostapd.conf file to change the WiFi name and channel, otherwise the Stratux/Linux software is as imaged.
