We are updating our Stratux/FlightBox software and will do some additional testing. Initially, I'm getting sporadic results with the new stratux build.

Android to Android worked 1 out of 3 times, Android to Apple worked 1 out of 3 times and did not see either hit the iFly devices so there is obviously something going on here. The build is an improvement, but still not solid for the RasPi 2 board w/ Edimax.

When I connect our same software to other devices like iLevil, SkyGuardTWX, etc they all work 100% of the time. With that said, we are confident this is a Edimax dongle issue. I've got a RasPi 3 I'll test next and report back, but I have a hunch it will work. I'm also going to try some other dongles I have around the office to see if they work too.

So I replaced the Edimax WiFi with a TP-LINK TL-WN725N and the Stratux has no WiFi at all. Plug the EdiMax back in (between boots) and the WiFi is back. How do you get the TP-LINK to work with Stratux .9b1???

Per testing today, the L3 lynx WiFi did not support iFly flight plan sharing. Ugggghh......

I just thought I would pass this along....

My Stratux and Raspberry Pi2 works flawlessly with my Edimax WiFi Dongle and can share flight plans between my 720, Android Phone and Ipad2, AT HOME, on the Stratux WiFi. However, everytime I went to the airport, I could power up the RP2 with the rechargable battery and everything would work, but the WiFi Dongle. Unplug the antennas from the USB Port on the RP2 and the WiFi Dongle would start working. Plug in the Antenna and the WiFi Dongle shuts off. ??????

I did some experimenting and found that the USB cord from the Battery to the RP2 was under powered (This is the USB cord I keep in the plane). Used the charging cord from a Verizon cell phone I had that had a "Quick Charger" and what I am assuming to be a higher amp rated USB cord and all works fine (This is the USB cord I keep at home).

I'm wondering if some of the problems ya'll are experiencing could be from the use of an underpowered USB to RP2 cord and the WiFi Dongles require different minimum power requirements between the Edimax and the TP.

Chris,
Youve reminded us of a very good point. It has been a known issue that RP2 requires more current than many power supply/power cord assy's can deliver. If users go to many RP2 sites, this topic has been discussed over and over. I think you have brought up an issue that many Pi users may not know about, as many have purchased the "kit" built up and preprogrammed, and have not followed the development of the Stratux since the beginning. Its very possible that the affected sub-assembly is the "underpowered" wi-fi dongle.
The Statux i built up and programmed last year works perfectly, however I was sure to use a power cord AND a usb power supply that will adequately provide the needed current. ( I am using a panel mounted Blue Sea Sytems marine outlet, 2.1 amps max). BTW, if youre using one of those cigarette lighter plug-ins that you get out of the goldfish bowl at the 7-11, it wont work. They supply somewhere under a half an amp.
