In fact, when it was discussed with the Stratux devs they chalked it up to the fact that I'd ordered the EDIMAX dongle from a different online source than they had (even though it was the same model, etc.).

Just for the record, we are working with Steve at FlightBox on this now. I'm seeing the same thing. The Pi2 with Edimax is not sharing, but the Pi-3 is. Trying to see if a prior build was working. I don't have another WiFi dongle to test right not, but will shortly.

We are also going to look at the WiFi config to see if there is a patch or update that might fix this.. It simply could be a hardware issue with a particular Edimax dongle. We will know more shortly. New devices with the Pi-3 will not have this issue.

Flight Plan sharing is working on other devices like Clarity, iLevil, SkyRadar, SkyGuardTWX, etc, but there seems to be an issue with the Edimax dongle. Stay tuned.

FWIW, a perhaps interesting story. I used to work for Sperry about 30 years ago. One of my jobs was troubleshooting the recently come to market Primus 800 Color WX Radar. The line guys had a problem where on unit wouldn't meet spec. Long story short, it turned out to be one vendor's brand of an OpAmp didn't meet the slew rate spec of the National brand of the same OpAmp. (And the fix was that I had to spec that the slew rate had a spec.)

So it could be that something in different batches of Edimax's is weird.

Curious what do you know about the L3 Lynx WiFi dongle working with flight plan sharing?

There was discussion last year about plan sharing via tratux working; here's a screenshot of a comment from back then. This was probably on version.4r2 or thereabouts. AFAIK, It worked from there on up to about version .7r? or maybe .8r?. when it stopped for me unless I used the TP-Link wifi dongle. Stratux Dev's weren't very interested since I was a party of 1. Shortly after that time, the Stratux devs changed some things and had 2 different wifi .conf's; one for EdiMAX and one for all others. It always worked for some such as ErgonomicMike, but not me. I have bone stock Android releases on all my devices. At one point about an hour after a failed attempt to share a plan, the 740 suddenly popped a window that said "Accept incoming flight plan?".
