I am using Stratux but Last time I was flying with it got no traffic what so ever I went to the airport to check it and of course the connected device was blank so during the fly since I was seeing the GPS status indicator lighted to ADS-B but it switched to GPS status (Tablet internal) it disconnected, I did not noticed the difference I Was wrongly assuming the Stratux was connected So would It be possible to Put a separate indicator on the map for Devices connected specially if we are not using a separate Stratux GPS witch is not mandatory

Also I was trying to get the metar for KSBA but as soon I was clicking WX the blue line It was moving to KIZA Is it because KSBA had no metar at this time?

since this I cannot reproduce it

When I use IFLY on my Android tablet or phone I have IFLY set up to give "ADS-B status".

When you first turn the Stratux on you will get "NO Heartbeat" message on IFLY until the Stratux boots up.

Then it will say "Out Of Range" until you are high enough to receive a tower or towers. This is typically pattern altitude.

Then it will say "Receiving" to indicate you have connection with at least one tower.

Targets will only light up in your location if you are withing the 15nm by 3500 feet up and down within the "Hocky Puck" around the aircraft with ADS-B out.

You should have your WiFi turned on and you can do all kinds of operations, i.e. boot, restart and shut down through the Stratux (HTTP://192.168.10.1)

It will also give you a quick access ICON to put on your home page so you can just click it and get the status of the Stratux.

I was so impressed with being able to see targets I have ordered my IN/OUT system and will installed it in mid-May.

Why so soon? I already survived one mid-air and don't want to press my luck on another.

I also have a rear view mirror and a smoke system so I can SEE..behind ...and BE SEEN with a stream of smoke..

Yep. I'm definitely paranoid.

I just built the Stratux from the kit that Open Solutions sells. What a great product! I had to call IFly support to find out how to get the 740 and Stratux to connect. Michael, the tech rep at IFly had me going in under a minute. Here is the sequence. From the Menu , tap on Exit Application. Then tap on Run in Background that comes on the next screen. Then tap on Settings on the next screen. Then tap on Network at bottom right . Wait a few seconds while the 740 poplulates various WiFi networks it sees, and then tap on Flight Box-b827eb72. "X" out twice and you are back on the map page and connected. You can check the connection by tapping Menu, then About, then Connected Devices and you should see the Stratux and all it parameters. I even got ADSB traffic while hooked up in my office 15 miles from a tower, but I couldn't get the weather on the ground.

The Stratux kit is $250 and $4.00 shipping. What a great product.

I also have a rear view mirror

John: One of our glider-towing members has been looking for a mirror to see behind him. Could you give details on what you use? robert@bellanca-championclub.com

Thanks,

A buddy of mine has the 700, and I was talking to him about the Stratux. Currently there is a brach to the Stratux code to allow for serial out to experimental PFD/MFD devices like the GRT Horizon. What are the unput options/setting on the ifly 700 hardware?

Also could the unit support a USB WiFi dongle?

Peter
