When I use IFLY on my Android tablet or phone I have IFLY set up to give "ADS-B status".
When you first turn the Stratux on you will get "NO Heartbeat" message on IFLY until the Stratux boots up.
Then it will say "Out Of Range" until you are high enough to receive a tower or towers. This is typically pattern altitude.
Then it will say "Receiving" to indicate you have connection with at least one tower.
Targets will only light up in your location if you are withing the 15nm by 3500 feet up and down within the "Hocky Puck" around the aircraft with ADS-B out.
You should have your WiFi turned on and you can do all kinds of operations, i.e. boot, restart and shut down through the Stratux (HTTP://192.168.10.1)
It will also give you a quick access ICON to put on your home page so you can just click it and get the status of the Stratux.
I was so impressed with being able to see targets I have ordered my IN/OUT system and will installed it in mid-May.
Why so soon? I already survived one mid-air and don't want to press my luck on another.
I also have a rear view mirror and a smoke system so I can SEE..behind ...and BE SEEN with a stream of smoke..
Yep. I'm definitely paranoid.
