I guess my position is that the "real" traffic and weather, which is available from a compliant ADS-B "out" and a decent receiver provides another level of safety for my flights. I use the traffic display on every flight, as a supplement to my not-so-20/20 eyeballs. If someone wants to wait a few years to save a few dollars, that is their prerogative, but the additional level of safety provided by the ADS-B, is, to me, worth the early adoption.

I agree. If you're not ready to purchase a permanent 2020 compliant system, get an affordable portable ADS-B in/out to use for the next 4 years.
