I was able to assemble the set-up and get it working with no issues. I set the antenna (collapsed - it's still too long for 978 MHz) on the glare shield of our C182. It connected nicely to the iPad running iFly GPS, but althought the Wi-Fi connected to the iFly720, the 720 would not connect to Free Flight and get the info.
We had several T-storms to the north of us and I could clearly see them on the iPad/iFly. I did not see any traffic, but didn't really expect to here.
Mine is powered by a 12V to USB converter, so I don't use the battery. The Ras-Pi is velcroed to the lower instrument panel on the passengers side - it did not get warm enough to feel, but we only flew for 45 minutes.
I'm not sure where to look next to get it to connect to the 720 . . . I'm sure this is not a solution supported by Adventure Pilot.
