Also, for whatever reason I found that my ADSB weather really only started 'working' again after doing at least one weather import from a USB or ifly connect update 'post-upgrade'. Not sure why but it seems like maybe the ADSB code logic for some reason requires an existing weather report to update or replace before it works? Anyway, that was my experience.

Regards,

Alasdair

Rob, Walter's suggestion to import a weather update file via WiFi seemed to set mine to where the weather data would work again. I flew it the next day with my older weather only unit and the weather data was working again.

alasdair and jscott-

Thanks for the info. After I did an update with just weather, the metars, tafs, etc came up...at least with the hard update info. From what you are saying, I should be good to go when I go live with ADS-B. I'll keep my fingers crossed for my next flight. I sure could have used this feature on Saturday flying across the state of FL! My home airport was IFR in heavy rain when I left the east coast. Fortunately the rain had moved out by the time I got back to the west coast. I was able to see the rain on the iFly and ATC was great help in keeping me in the clear but the metars at my fingertips would have been nice. Thanks again!

The logs on my iFly lead me to believe that a directory called wxdata is missing from my unit. I will try the internet wx download to see if that fixes my machine. I have the same symptoms regarding txt downloads that are mentioned here.

Great. Walter has a copy of my logs from this issue as well. I'll check tonight to see if my log files indicated the same. Thanks.

In fact, my log says:
[Warning] [11.118 sec]SectorTree.OnConstruct() - File missing: FileResource[/SDMMCDisk/wxdata/metars.str], SectorTree 'Metars'

[Warning] [11.142 sec]SectorTree.OnConstruct() - File missing: FileResource[/SDMMCDisk/wxdata/tafs.str], SectorTree 'TAFS'

[Warning] [11.169 sec]SectorTree.OnConstruct() - File missing: FileResource[/SDMMCDisk/wxdata/winds.str], SectorTree 'Winds'

[Warning] [63.311 sec]<>DownloadFile() - failed with exception: weather.zip, System.Net.WebException: The remote name could not be resolved ---> System.Net.Sockets.SocketException: No such host is known

[Warning] [63.355 sec]Updater.DownloadFile() - failed: weather.zip

[Warning] [64.426 sec]Radar.DownloadFile() - failed: imageindex.txt

Makes me wonder if some of us didn't download a corrupt weather file with the update or the upgrade corrupted the file that had just been downloaded, so the ADS-B weather had no file to update. I did also notice that while the weather radar was working, the circle around the radar area that is shown if you zoom out didn't exist, which may be the radar download image that failed as well.

It may be that updating the weather file replaced the corrupted/missing file, then all is well again.
