iFly 700 Update to 8.xx Rev

After updating to the latest Rev, I find that in weather mode, I cannot tap the weather color circle any more and get the weather. I must tap the airport, then like I used to pull up the airport information, I must now call up the weather mode report from that menu on a separate weather bar.

Is this the way the new update is supposed to work, or should I still be able to reference the weather by just tapping the colored circle at the airport?

I have the same problem. Did you ever get a resolution?

Sorry for the delay in getting an answer back on this. This is actually by design for Version 8. We are preparing for more of a "layers" approach for weather, and other aspects. However, we have to complete our seamless charts feature first.

At that time, we will begin showing nexrad over sectionals and other charts, and this will basically allow you to "toggle" the weather mode on/off while on whichever mode.

I hope this helps. If you touch and hold any point in weather mode, Weather Information is the first item in the actions list.

I can't seem to get any METAR, TAF, or winds aloft data at all. My SkyGuard says it is receiving the data. Left on a trip this morning after upgrading to Ver 8.x.x this week. Was really annoyed to find that while I seem to still have Nexrad, all other weather functions seem to be either dead or so well hidden that I can't find them. Selecting METAR, TAF or winds aloft just shows me blank data fields. Airports are no longer overlaid with color and winds. So what happened to the weather?

Fortunately, I still have a copy of Ver 7 on my other SD card, so will be downgrading to version 7 until this issue is resolved. IMHO, a bad software release.

I must say, I am quite annoyed with getting upgrades every month and never knowing whether my GPS is going to be functional or not. In the case of Ver 8, I was quite surprised by the new look and feel. Most of it I like. But sending software out this broken is not an acceptable practice and is my one gripe about using the iFly equipment.

jscott, I'm sorry we disappointed you with our v8 release. I'm not sure why you are not receiving text data through your SkyGuard, I assure you this was tested internally and by a large team of beta testers for a long time before release. If you are able to zip & send the files from your \User\#Log folder on your SD card, that would help us diagnose your problem. When you perform a weather update on your device, do you get that data?
