Being the nerd that I am, I was wondering about an ADS-B developement kit as there seems to be a lot of these little ADS-B IN receivers floating around (usually an indication there is a development board from an IC manufacturer being produced commercially).

Has anyone looked into this? Can the IFly folks point me to the ADS-B data streem source documentation that they comply with?

For those interested, this looked like fun-

Is there an consensus amoungst IFly owners as to the best (wireless) ADS-B In receiver is for the 720?

This one looks interesting and uses the Garmin and NEMA formats. Does IFly 720 support either format?

Be very careful before you venture into uncharted territory Bill. For one thing, I believe there may be some differences in the way USA and Europe do ADS-B. The vender you are looking at serves the European market.

That TRX-1000 seems to be a 1090 receiver. In the USA, I believe you need a 978 receiver if you want to receive both TIS rebroadcast (traffic) and FIS (weather) data.

From a web page I found:
"Now, if you want to benefit from the free stuff, weather, traffic and the ability to directly “see” other ADS-B Out aircraft directly – you need ADS-B In capability; that can be either a 978UAT or 978 MHz ADS-B stand-alone receiver."
