Thanks all for the replies!

I have a basic understanding of the ADS-B system and I did return the Sagetech unit which was a dual band receiver. This could be my issues with not seeing any commercial traffic, although I think I remember seeing some with the iLevil SW... Oh well chaulk it up to old age!

Thanks Walter, I left shortly after I called to repair an item at my business so the phone went to fax (home office line).

I think this answers what I had questions on.

Cheers everyone!

Paul

Paul, when you are receiving from a ground station, you will receive ALL traffic that has mode C. That would include commercial traffic also. However, for you to receive the ground station without ADS-B out, you will need to be flying in close proximity to another plane that has ADS-B out to trigger the ground station.

Thanks Jim,

Flew again today and low and behold I got an alert for a plane 3 miles to my right at same altitudetracking away from me. Did not see it but the iFly alerted me and I saw the target on the screen. Fears laid to rest - it is working just no traffic to report! Strange that the A319 at KLBE did not show up and they were less than 2 miles from us.

Thanks again to all! The iFly is really a very important tool in my cockpit!

Paul
